Every summer, we pack up our gear and venture into the wilderness of Southwestern Ontario. We leave behind the comforts of home to set up a campsite, build a fire, and sit around sharing stories, enjoying drinks, and roasting marshmallows. But why do we do this? What draws us to the outdoors?
For us, it's about grounding ourselves and reconnecting with nature.
We feel the earth beneath our feet, listen to nature's whispers throughout the night, and wake up to the sounds of the forest greeting the day. This immersive experience is something that we can only truly appreciate by stepping away from our everyday comforts and immersing ourselves in the natural world.
Camping isn't easy. Packing, setting up, and unpacking all take time and effort. But perhaps that's part of the appeal. If it were easy, everyone would do it. The challenges make the rewards even sweeter.
This is why I believe we camp: for the beauty, the experience, and the joy of being one with nature
