Bear Lake Experience

Rules and Guidelines

 

  • The Bear Lake Experience is designed to be a back to nature camping adventure.  At all time guests and visitors are to respect and preserve the natural heritage of the property.  

  • The camping area has been located to best enjoy the beauty of the land, while ensuring the natural balance is not disturbed.  

  • Campers are to respect that all other campers and guests have an equal right to enjoying the property.

Usage

  • Sites are available from May 1 to October 31st

  • Camp only in designated areas.

  • 1 Family per site, with max 2 adults.  

  • Day Guests are permitted , additional fees may apply 

  • Quiet hours are from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Limit use of generators and other noise at all times.

  • There are no dump stations for RV liquid waste at our campground.

  • All waste and garbage must be removed from the property when you leave.

  • Potable Water is not provided at our location.  

  • Bottled drinking water is available for purchase

  • All sites have 1 -30 Amp Power receptacle

  • Portable washroom on property is for use by all guests.

  • Guests must not enter neigbouring properties for any reason.

Parking

  • Only one vehicle is permitted to park on a site.   All other vehicles must park in designated location

  • Parking on the laneway is not permitted at any time

  • Speed Limit is 5 KM / hr. 

Campfires

  • Cutting down any vegetation or trees, regardless of condition is not permitted

  • Use of any wood with nails or metal is NOT Permitted 

  • Use existing fire pits, keep campfires small and thoroughly extinguish unattended fires

  • Use of chainsaws or other powered saws is not permitted by guests

  • Firewood is available for purchase.

 

Pets

  • This is a pet friendly facility

  • Max 2 pets per site

  • Keep pets leashed.

  • Pick up your pet’s waste and dispose of it in your trash.

Pond and Creek

  • Please use caution at all times around water.

  • Swimming and use of the water features on the property is at your own risks. 

  • Bear Lake Experience does not provide a lifeguard

  • Lifejackets are required for all guests under 16 years of age, near or in the water.

  • Motorized boats are not permitted

  • During high water events guests must remain in the camping area

Wildlife 

  • Many varieties of wildlife have been observed on the property, be mindful of the dangers associated with wildlife. 

  • Do not approach, feed or disturb wildlife

  • Do not leave small pets unattended

  • All fishing must meet the requirements of all Ontario Regulations

  • Catch and release only for all fish.

Trail and natural feature usage

  • There are many trails throughout the property.   Trails and water passes have many hazards and risks associated with their use.  

  • Guests accept responsibility and agree to assume all risk associated with exploring the property both on and off trails.  All precautions must be taken by all users to ensure safe usage of the property.

  • There are also many varieties of vegetation and insects on the property including poison ivy.  Dress appropriately when exploring. 

  • During high water events guests must remain in the camping area. 

  • Do not venture into adjoining properties and fields.

  • Report suspicious activities or disturbances to park office at 519-817-4612
